Start with the delivered form: bar stock, a cut blank or a machined blank. Specify the material condition, surface and inspection scope alongside it.

Keep the release record tied to the delivered stage.
Agree the MTC, dimensional checks and any specified testing for the delivered stage. Confirm how heat or lot identity carries through cutting and machining.
Heat treatment and surface finish can apply at more than one stage. State each separately in the RFQ.

Coating and surface-protection operations are carried out at JOTAIN-owned downstream facilities. Surface preparation, final dimensions and inspection requirements are defined for each order.
Hot-dip galvanizing
Immersion in molten zinc provides a protective layer on steel parts.
Industrial painting
Specify the coating system and color to suit the requirements.
Chrome plating
A functional plated layer for rods and parts specified in the drawing.
Black oxide treatment
A black conversion coating applied to specified parts.
Electrophoretic coating
Electrodeposition coating applied to specified parts.

Inspection records and shipping documents
Material condition, dimensions, inspection records and packing requirements define the delivery conditions. The process and test plan are agreed for each order, with records carried through to shipment handover.

Chemical, mechanical, hardness, metallographic, UT/NDT, dimensional and traceability checks. For a quenched and tempered bar with a core-property requirement, state the section size during treatment and required test location. Agree which heat or treatment lot the result must represent.
